2025 was a defining year for Airly – a year of scale, recognition, and bold steps toward a cleaner, more informed world. From award‑winning projects to groundbreaking deployments across Asia and the Americas, we expanded our reach and sharpened our impact.
We strengthened our partnerships, elevated our technology, and built new foundations for communication and innovation. Most importantly, we grew as a team, raising the standards that guide everything we do.
Here’s a look back at the milestones that shaped Airly’s journey this year.
Breathe London – the flagship project
In partnership with Vodafone, Ricardo, Cambridge University, CERC, and Scotswold, we deployed 136 sensors across London.
Airly has provided Londoners with unprecedented transparency regarding the air they breathe with 1-minute resolution. This network empowers London boroughs, schools, hospitals, and citizens to make informed decisions that directly improve urban health. Our high-density monitoring on Oxford Street will provide empirical evidence for the environmental value of pedestrianization, demonstrating a measurable drop in nitrogen dioxide levels when vehicle traffic is removed.
The project has been honored with three awards at the 2025 Environmental Services and Solutions Expo, for:
- Best Real-Time Air Quality Monitoring Project
- AQE Judges Award
- Innovative Sensor Technology Implementation (Air).
Global expansion – Airly in Asia & the Americas
Airly’s footprint is growing faster than ever. In 2025, we launched a major project on Java, Indonesia, and completed our first strategic installations in Turkey, India, and Brazil – including Belem, the host city of COP30. Step by step, we are truly going global.
The time of strategic partnerships
2025 marked a decisive shift towards partnership-led growth for Airly. This year, 9 new partners began representing Airly in local markets worldwide. From Turkey and Romania to the Balkans, these collaborations combine Airly’s certified, near-reference air quality technology with deep regional expertise, enabling cities, businesses, and infrastructure leaders to access reliable, actionable environmental intelligence at scale.
In the UK, this strategy translated directly into performance, with our B2B segment seeing standout growth driven by the continued success of AcSoft and a steadily expanding footprint across public and private sector projects.
Beyond expansion, 2025 was defined by high client retention. In an industry where data accuracy, uptime, and compliance are non-negotiable, our clients’ decision to stay with Airly is a testament to the reliability of our sensors and the value of our insights. It reflects the robustness of Airly’s MCERTS-certified sensors, the strength of our calibration and data science capabilities.
As our partner network grows, one principle remains constant: trust is our strongest currency. We build long-term relationships by doing exactly what we promise – providing dependable infrastructure, transparent data, and insights that decision-makers can act on with certainty.
A new hub for communication
The launch of the new Airly website in 2025 marked a shift in how we engage with the world. Moving beyond a traditional corporate site, it has evolved into a centralised communication hub and a sophisticated educational platform. By providing accessible data visualisations, whitepapers, and industry news, we are not just selling a product; we are educating the global market on the critical importance of air quality monitoring.
The site’s architecture was designed to serve a dual purpose: streamlining the journey for B2B stakeholders while acting as a resource for local authorities, researchers, and activists. This digital transformation has significantly increased our global reach, making Airly the first point of reference for anyone seeking to understand and then mitigate air pollution.
Setting the standard
Airly is no longer just a participant in the industry; we are shaping its future. Our active involvement in CEN WG42 (the working group for sensor standards) and the Institute for Air Quality Management (IAQM) ensures that we are at the table where the rules of air quality monitoring are written. By contributing our technical expertise to these bodies, we are helping to harmonise global standards and ensure that low-cost sensor technology is held to the highest possible levels of scientific rigor.
Our commitment to the scientific community is further reflected in our roles within international research projects like DivAir and CitiObs. These collaborations allow us to test the boundaries of what sensor networks can achieve, bridging the gap between academic research and real-world deployment. With more projects already planned for 2026, Airly remains at the forefront of environmental science.
Intense product development & innovation
In Poland, we launched the first mobile sensor deployments with Airly Orbital. This technology allows for dynamic monitoring, capturing data from moving assets to create a street-level pollution map that static stations cannot reach. This breakthrough provides our clients with even more actionable insights, identifying pollution hotspots with surgical precision. We also raised the bar with stricter production standards and enhanced SLA commitments for our customers.
Powered by people
At the heart of every sensor deployed and every partnership formed is the Airly team. In 2025, we focused on strengthening our internal capabilities by welcoming a new wave of exceptional talent across our operations, engineering, data science, and commercial departments. These new perspectives have been vital in driving the rapid pace of innovation we’ve seen this year.
By promoting a culture of excellence and attracting experts who are passionate about our mission, we have ensured that Airly has the intellectual capital to solve the most complex environmental challenges. Our people are the engine behind our growth, and their dedication is what makes our vision of “turning data into clean air” a tangible reality.
As we close out 2025, one thing is clear: Airly is entering its next chapter with more momentum than ever. Our global footprint is expanding, our technology is advancing, and our partnerships are deepening – all powered by a team committed to making clean air a universal right.
With new projects underway, 2026 promises to be even more transformative. Thank you for being part of this journey. The air is changing – and so are we.
