Airly sensor in Nigeria
We are happy to announce that we’ve installed a new Airly sensor in Lagos in Nigeria as part of an academic study. The device will monitor current PM and gas pollution in the air. A study by UNICEF estimated that only 6% of African children live within 50km of an air quality monitor. In North America and Europe this figure is over 70% of children.
The installation in Lagos represents an important milestone in expanding access to reliable air quality data across Africa. By providing hyperlocal, real-time insights, the sensor empowers researchers, policymakers, and local communities to better understand pollution sources and take meaningful steps toward improving public health and environmental conditions.
