Cezara Copacianu - Airly

At Airly, we create a diverse team full of extraordinary personalities. Our new intAIRview interview series aims to show our team members from a professional and more private side. Time to find out who is behind the mission to repair the air.

Today, intAIRview’s guest will be Cezara Copacianu, our Communication Manager in Romania.

Who are you and what is your role at Airly?

Hi, Cezara Copacianu here 🙂 I am a lively and colorful person and, at Airly, I am the communication manager for Romania. Basically, I’m responsible for all of Romania’s marketing and PR activities. Speaking truthfully, I’m here to help Airly with anything needed. From social media posts to press conferences, from managing projects to maintaining partnerships, I am here to support Airly in its mission to #repairtheair.

What drives you to work with Airly?

Firstly it was the idea of working for a better cause. I am a person driven by purpose and I truly believe in Airly’s mission to help people breathe clean air. Then, after I started working here, I discovered all these amazing people and now I think it’s a combo. It’s amazing to work with super friendly, supportive, and professional team members who inspire and motivate you while doing something that positively impacts the world.

What do you think makes the fight for clean air in Romania the most difficult?

Clearly, it’s the lack of education that drives indifference. Unfortunately, there are still a lot of people that do not understand the impact of the polluted air and even more people that believe they cannot do anything about it or are not willing to make changes. Even though the air pollution fighter “tribe” is growing in the last few years, I believe there is still more room to grow. Thus, my biggest bet at Airly is to make people aware of the topic. Each time someone begins a discussion about air pollution, my heart melts a little bit.

How do you rate the attitude of people in Romania towards the problem of air quality?

Most of them are quite indifferent, but there is a group of activists that realizes the importance of clean air and I believe the trend is constantly growing. I am optimistic about this, and I believe Airly has a huge responsibility to help grow this trend even more with every action we take in Romania.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

I can say I have too many passions and not enough time to do them all. It’s skiing, fashion, festivals, traveling, reading a good book in nature, going to the seaside, swimming or just spending time around the water, going out with friends, partying, laughing, and volunteering. A recent discovery is painting by numbers, which is such a relaxing thing to do. It helps me switch off from daily life. I would say that my biggest passion is to experience life, and that can be anything, from trying a new cafe to doing an extreme sport. Some of them are temporary, others are permanent, as with anything in life.

Basically, I enjoy living life with whatever comes my way. I believe that we have so many awesome things to discover and experience that sometimes I feel out of time even though I’m in my twenties.

What’s the most surprising thing you’ve realized lately?

Well, I already know I am a person that lives for experiences, but lately, I found out why. Apparently, I am a multipotentialist. It’s quite a new concept, but it blew my mind. Right now, I am exploring this and trying to make the most of it. I would say it is a curse and a blessing at the same time, but realizing this about myself helped me keep the promise that I made to myself some time ago, that I will fill my path with the experiences that bring me closer to my dreams.

What surprised you the most when you became part of the Airly team?

Well, I need to recognize it was a totally different working experience compared to the corporate life of my previous job. Apart from the different working style and getting used to a more “friendly” approach, I think the kindness of the people was the most surprising aspect. I would say that here we work in a very human way. We are committed and fully professionals, but, at the same time, we put people above anything and I can see this in every part of the work we do. I need to recognize that this approach surprised me.

What’s your next biggest dream?

It’s a hard question, I have many dreams :)) But if I had to sum it up in one phrase, I would say that my biggest dream is to have a big impact on the world while exploring it to the fullest. I want to inspire people through the person I am and am becoming while enjoying life at the same time. It’s vague, but it’s the silverline for all the dreams I have.
